What Does the Second Day Mean in the Book of Genesis?
The Second Day represents the definitions of time. In the present, the laws of heaven appear and repeat so that we may recognize them.
The First Day, as the first cycle of creation, defined the conditions for the existence of the material world. Definitions appear in the material world. Consciousness was also defined. Consciousness is able to know the world through the perception of the material world, and in this way it is able to recognize, within the appearing experiences, the laws and the relationships between the laws — the network of relationships.
For consciousness, the definition of time is also necessary for perception and recognition, because only through repeated experiences is it possible to recognize the laws. Just as we cannot comprehend and understand a film unless it is played at the proper speed.
According to the description of creation, the world exists; only time progresses from the perspective of consciousness. Just as a film already exists on its storage medium, so the world also exists. However, for consciousness, perception must occur at the proper speed in order for it to become understandable and interpretable.
The Second Day, the second cycle of creation, defines the timeline, which is the most important condition for the ability of consciousness to know. By perceiving the appearing reality at the proper speed, consciousness becomes capable of comprehending and understanding the laws that define the existence of the world.
Since time was defined on the Second Day, time is not a condition for the existence of the world, because the world already exists when time is defined. Time is a condition for knowing from the perspective of consciousness. The world exists timelessly; that is, it exists even without time and without the presence of consciousness.
