What Is the Difference Between the Imagined Future and the Future That Unfolds?
The imagined future appears in our imagination according to our current knowledge, whereas the future that unfolds appears according to all the laws of Heaven.
Within the imagined future, our will appears according to our knowledge. Our evaluations also appear, and we reshape the present into the form we expect it to take.
Within the imagined future, only the laws that we have already come to know are at work, and the network of relationships between those laws appears only to the extent that we have already come to know it in some form. Our mistaken knowledge also appears in the imagined future. Because it does not correspond to reality, we are able to imagine things that can never come to pass.
Within the future that unfolds, every law is always present, just as it is in the present. However, from the reality that appears, we perceive only that which we are already capable of perceiving. This depends not only on the sensitivity and speed of our senses, but also on our existing knowledge, because we are able to recognize only those laws that can be connected, through our experiences, to what we already know.
The network of relationships between the laws reveals which laws we are currently capable of recognizing. Those laws that are connected to the ones we already know become recognizable through future experiences. Therefore, our current knowledge determines what we are capable of perceiving, even though all the laws of Heaven are truly present within every experience that appears.
The very same experience may hold completely different lessons for different people, because each person possesses different knowledge. Therefore, one and the same experience may lead to entirely different insights for two different individuals.
The future that unfolds does not develop according to our will. However, the better we come to know the ways in which the laws are manifested, the more clearly we are able to see what will happen in the future. Consequently, the realization of our will also becomes increasingly successful as our knowledge grows.
The realization of our will therefore appears to us as ability, but in reality it is the confirmation of our knowledge. When what we want is what happens, our experiences confirm our correct knowledge and refute our mistaken knowledge.
