Grass: The fundamental processes of life.

A change in matter which, beyond the laws of physics, organizes matter into a living organism, and this living organism continuously renews itself and is at all times experienceable. An experience that is continuously present during our life.

Genesis 1:11–13

When researching the laws of the world, we find laws that are constant, unchanging, and unchangeable, applying in the same way to all matter and everywhere in space.

The next level in the laws does not contradict the fundamental laws, but defines new laws within them, laws through which inanimate matter becomes living.

The fundamental laws that define the world apply to all matter, both living and inanimate, whereas the laws that define the living apply only to matter that belongs to a living organism.

This is also the best way to distinguish between them in this respect: if a process operates as long as the organism is alive and stops when the organism dies, then it is a fundamental life process.

A fundamental life process persists throughout the entire duration of life, so these processes can be recognized by their constancy. For example, a person’s breathing and blood circulation continue throughout their entire life, so these are fundamental life processes that can be readily recognized and defined because of their constancy.

Environmental changes may affect these processes, but only to a very small extent. We may breathe faster when, for example, we are running, or very slowly when we are meditating, or we may even hold our breath for a few minutes while diving, but in reality, breathing continues throughout our entire life.

As soon as breathing stops, the body dies. After this, no additional law acts upon the body that could make it living; when a fundamental life process stops, every other process determined by the laws of life also stops. The body’s blood circulation also stops, as does every function of the body that the consciousness could previously use to perceive the world.

After the fundamental life processes stop, only those laws that act upon all matter in the world act upon the body again: the laws defined one level earlier.
