Why Do Our Experiences Repeat?
The repetition of experiences provides certainty that the laws defining the world are constant, unchangeable, and eternally valid.
After the laws of time had been defined, it became possible to arrange experiences in sequence, and the sequence of experiences makes the appearance of recurring experiences possible. Repetition, in turn, makes it possible for the intellect to recognize regularities in how things operate.
Everything in the world is a form in which laws appear. These laws appear differently under different circumstances, but under the same circumstances, their appearance is just as constant as the laws that determine them.
Repetition of experiences would not be necessary for knowing, but it is necessary for understanding. The task of the Human is not only to know, but also to understand. Through the Human, the world becomes consciously existing, because the Human is consciousness.
After knowing, understanding can arise when, through the repetition of experiences, the intellect recognizes regularities and also formulates them.
Further experiences then support the correctness of the formulations or point to their errors. Through repetition, every definition can be tested.
When the intellect is already specifically seeking the laws that determine the appearance of the world, we can also create the same conditions and recurring experiences specifically in order to test the correctness of our established definitions.
Recurring experiences serve proof and verification and provide certainty regarding our knowledge.
